Could we have an additional electronic foum? This is to help find and share places mostly within a few hours of MUUSA. I want to break up the long drive there with a fun stop-over. I have ideas but others must have ideas also.

Or for that matter, a place for people to offer suggestions on cheap, but not too moldy, places to stay on the rather longer drive to get there?

My current fav of the last 2 years:
Cloverdale, IN. Lots of places, all had availability (last year) when I pulled into their parking lots to check prices at 4am the night (morning?) before MUUSA.

And, Google for "hotel Cloverdale, IN" and check out the 2nd review of Cloverdale Inn.
Now there's a resounding positive comment!
"The building is collapsing. I sleep in fear."
ROFL!
And if that weren't enough: #1 comment:
"Close enough you can walk to the truck pulls."

I may have to check it out this coming summer... :)

Nate,

Let's go ahead and setup a string in the Transportation folder. I'll move your topic there now!

Awesome, thanks!

Re: the original topic: There is the obvious arch, but I admit my sightseeing has been limited the last few years. This drive is a killer! We tend to stop for the night a few hours away from camp, then try to hit the arch on the way through. Since my kids are still young enough that it's a big deal every time, we (I) still like it. Plus, if you leave the immediate area, there are some interesting photo opportunities down there. (Be brave, the area looks like it might be a bit rough. I have a bonus: a 6'4" guy with broad shoulders (and stomach, but who's counting?!) is a bit less of an easy target than some, I think. Not sure the cowboy hat does anything, but I wear it all the time anyway. :)

Other ideas for sightseeing are welcome!

We plan to stop in Columbia MO on July 3.

I want to see:

The Jefferson Farm:

And stay at:
On Hwy. 63 there is a Courtyard Marriott (SE Columbia) that has a Bennigans restaurant attached and is just one mile from the Jefferson Farm (on the same road - New Haven).
